Vijay Vujjini

Vijay Vujjini is a technical consultant and advisor to private, non-profit, and government organizations. He provides end-to-end architectural, technical, and strategic guidance for building large-scale systems, with a special focus to architect for population scale. He is based in Bangalore, India.

Previously, as CTO at the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI), Vijay worked with over 50 countries to accelerate the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) through deep tech advisory. He actively collaborated with Digital Public Goods (DPGs), development partners, and service providers to help build a sustainable DPI ecosystem.

He also served as the Principal Architect at UIDAI, where he led the design of core Aadhaar systems, significantly enhancing their capacity and performance. He has contributed to several other national digital infrastructure initiatives in India, including GST, data/consent-sharing frameworks, and the Health/Agriculture tech stacks.

Vijay holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. His primary areas of interest include systems architecture across distributed technologies; AI/ML; and open-source software; and open data.
